For private clients
A commission is aconversation first.
You are not buying a product with options. You are choosing a slab, deciding what runs through it, and having it built to your room by the people who will deliver it.
The process
01
Conversation
We start with the room, not the product. Dimensions, light, how many people sit down, what the piece has to live next to.
02
Slab selection
You choose your timber from our stock — in person at Chamdor, or by photograph if you are far away. The slab decides much of the design.
03
Design & quotation
Drawings, resin colour samples, base options and a fixed written quotation. Nothing is cut until you have signed it off.
04
Manufacture
Machining, pouring, curing, levelling and sanding in our own factory. You receive progress photographs at each stage.
05
Finishing
Hand-rubbed oil, satin or high gloss, chosen for how the piece will actually be used.
06
Delivery & installation
Blanket-wrapped transport, and a route survey for oversize pieces — stair widths, lift dimensions, crane or window access where a slab will not go through a door.
Delivery & installation
Getting a four-metre slab into a first-floor apartment
Large pieces are a logistics problem long before they are a delivery. We survey the route — door widths, stair turns, lift dimensions, balcony access — while the piece is still on the drawing. Where a slab will not fit, we either engineer a concealed joint or arrange crane and window access, and we tell you which it is before you commit.
Everything travels blanket-wrapped on our own transport, and our team assembles, levels and finishes on site.
